Today's Workout !

1pm ~ 5 mile cross-country hill run   OMG.. Didn't feel much like running today.. The only plus is that it was raining and cool, came back looking like a drowned rat..lol   In most cases when I don't feel like running or even working out it ends up being great. I end up doing a few extra miles to punish myself for not feeling like running, and I love every extra mile =)  In today' s case I didn't punish myself with extra miles because the rain got so bad it started to burn my eyes, and the hills got a little slippery so just did the 5 miles.  My dogs just loved running in the rain with me.. We normally run in the hot sun and it is much harder on your body to run in the heat. It makes you tough & you sweat more which is great for fat loss.

Only 3 hours after my run the soreness has set in my thighs and glutes. I guess the sprint down that long hill at the end of my run was what did it. When you want power you run up hill, for speed you run fast down hill. Running down hill opens up your hips and can create some soreness in that muscle area. If your not used to it, make sure you do it gradually and let your body become accustom to both running up hills & sprinting fast down hills.

You will still get sore still, but nothing like when you first start adding this type of running exercise to your workouts. You might be in great shape, but anytime you add a new type of training exercise to your workouts you will get sore. It's because you are using your muscles in a much different way, and your muscles are in shock which will create extreme soreness in the beginning. That is why it's so important to keep your muscles, and body guessing with a wide variety of training, exercises and combinations. Muscles become accustom between 2-3 weeks of doing the same routine. Keep changing your routine, workouts, cardo etc. 

This keeps your muscles & body in shock mode which allows it to make progress and more gains. When you body becomes bored of the same routine month after month or more it will stop making gains and you will not see any or very little progress from you workouts. No matter how hard you workout, your body will adapt to it and not benefit in the way you would hope and want it too. It doesn't take much time to create and change around your workouts every 2-3 weeks. So keep training  your body the best it can be and keep it guessing & working like a well oil machine.

5 ~ egg whites & 2 w/yolks   2- cans water pk'd tuna w/chopped celery ~ lunch & dinner  
1-diet pepsi  =(   Lots of water all day!    1-cup tea  dessert
